Just recently, some Pinoy tech blogs have posted an article about the blocking the porn sites in the Philippines. We can't deny that it is actually happening, from the sources: YugaTech and Unbox.ph.

Does PH Government actually Block The Porn Sites?

Before that, PornHub's year in review stated that the Philippines is ranked as #14 to visit the website in 2016, making the only South East Asia country included in the list:

As of this post, there's no formal announcement from the National Telecommunications Commission(NTC) or any major news bureau, about the said blocking of porn sites as reported by some tech blogs.

However, in an Inquirer's post way back 2014 [Gov’t to block porn sites in PH], it was revealed that the NTC had already issued a Memorandum Circular stating the Philippine Internet Service Providers (ISP) to ban the access of PORN sites as to accordance with the Republic Act No. 9775 (AN ACT DEFINING THE CRIME OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, PRESCRIBING PENALTIES THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES) or Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.

Moreover, the said Memorandum Circular ordered the ISP to install software that would not allow the access to porn sites.

Remember, it was reported last 2014, and I don't remember ISP is blocking the sites. Yet, I experienced that at some point, my ISP had already blocked my access to certain porn sites. I don't know if that was already implemented.

Relatively, Unbox.ph's post [ The Government Has Started Blocking Porn Sites ] displayed that some websites like Xvideos and PornHub have already been blocked by SMART Telecom with a message like this:

“This website has been ordered blocked under authority of the Philippine Government pursuant to Republic Act 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Law.”
I tried to access these porn sites, and Globe Telecom haven't blocked the sites yet.

Final Thoughts
Depending on the ISP, some Porn Sites have already blocked by a certain ISP as Unbox.ph reported. Is it really important to block the porn sites? Do you have thoughts? Cast your comments below!

I will update if there is a formal announcement.!

Sound Bites
When it comes to page visits to adult website PornHub, Filipinos are still No. 1 according to the latest data. When searching for women, 90 percent of Filipinos searched for ‘Maria Ozawa.’ The remaining 10 percent, believed to be congressmen, searched for ‘Leila De Lima.’ ~ ProfessionalHeclker
