Globe Upgrades Generation 3 Stores #Gen3NextACT

Globe Telecom, last Saturday, temporarily closed down one of its BIGGEST and busiest stores in the Philippines — SM North Edsa — to make it something fantastic renovation.

Way back in 2010, Globe retailed and pioneered its innovative store designs. This 2014, Globe Telecom promises to make it more fresh and funnier experience for its customer and a unique style and concept which makes it "FIRST" of its kind in the Philippines.

Good thing, two biggest stores will be temporarily closed for unique and wonderful renovation — SM North Edsa and Limketkai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.

Accordingly, these two stores will reopen in December 2014, for a fresh experience. The telco teamed up with the award-winning Filipino artists led by Ross Capili do live-art on the closed Globe store facade. And it's happening this Saturday again in Limketkai Mall, Cagayan De Oro.

More importantly, this news will be the Globe Telecom's latest and greatest update yet. The Globe Generation (#Gen3NextAct) stores were designed by the very man who was responsible for the iconic Apple store: Tim Kobe.

Globe Retail Transformation and Management Head Joe Caliro said:
“We are taking a giant leap with the new retail concept of our 2 flagship stores. Our Generation 3 stores will bring to life our customers’ digital lifestyle and epitomize the aspirations of our customers. Our stores will be a wonderfulplace where customers can explore and discover exciting finds in the digital space.”

Before opening, the Generation 3 stores will feature themed surprises – Arts, Community and Technology. Working together with distinguished Filipino artists led by Ross Capili, Globe gave retail customers a live art experience as the artists boarded up the stores. 

The live art had enthusiasts and followers abuzz in Twitter using the hashtag #Gen3nextACT and photos uploaded in Facebook as the artists wowed retail onlookers at North Edsa. Capili working with the theme ‘past to future’ designs the mounted mural on the Globe stores. 

The mural is set to surprise onlookers every two weeks as participating artists keep on adding and drawing on the canvas.

Who is Ross Capili?

Capili has been in the art scene for almost 40 years specializing in varying expressions, movements and media. With successful exhibitions here and abroad, Capiliis also the founder of the Facebook page ArtPhilippines, which gathers over with over 8,000 members composed of Filipino artists here and around the world.

The art event at Globe SM North Edsa began September 25 where Capili was joined by the first set of artists namely PercinetteSauro, Rem San Pedro and Herald GuarinCorpuz.  Globe Limketkai Mall’s art event will begin on October 4 featuring the creations of Joey and Archie Balcos.

 Globe Generation 3  Designer

The Globe Generation 3 stores are designed by Tim Kobe, founder, and CEO of Eight, Inc. whose brainchild is the iconic Apple store in New York. On the future Globe stores, Kobe says,“Globe is transforming the customer experience in the Philippines, and it will send shock waves far beyond.” Among his achievements, Kobe is responsible for the designs of the Apple Stores, the Nike Concept Stores, Coke, Knoll, Virgin Atlantic Airways, and Citibank. 

The new stores will also house interactive lifestyle vignettes that will feature a myriad of products within attractive displays that make it more relevant to customers. The installations are made flexible and reconfigurable allowing the store to transform, keeping the environment always fresh and giving customers a reason to return.
