Nike Fires Majority of FuelBand Fitness Tracker Development Team

Nike, sportswear company, reportedly fired major team for developing FuelBand fitness tracker, according to CNET.

In an CNET exclusive interview, Nike spokesman Brian Strong said in their Digital Sport priorities are evolving, it is expect to layoff some number of changes within the employment matters.

It is also believed that Nike lies its FUTURE in software – not on Hardware. FuelBand Fitness tracking device is an hardware type and therefore cuts-off majority of its members. However, Nike's software development team shall continue to work. Lastly, Nike's Web Products are not affected too.

The company fired its members of the 70-person hardware team. About 30 employees residing in the Hong Kong office and the rest at Nike's Beaverton, Ore., headquarters.

Interestingly, someone at Secret had posted some argument about Nike's Exec.

The douchebag execs at Nike are going to lay off a bunch of the eng team who developed The FuelBand, and other Nike+ stuff. Mostly because the execs committed gross negligence, wasted tons of money, and didn't know what they were doing.

In my own opinion, maybe Nike focuses instead with the Software because they avoid competition with Apple "iWatch" and Google Android Wearable OS.
