Globe Telecom: Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging in Bohol

In the morning, a strong earthquake rocked in the epicenter Bohol with a Ritcher Scale of 7.2. Some parts in the Visayas were also affected by the quake. There were also casualties reported especially in Cebu and Bohol.


With the tragic event, Globe Telecom extends its effort to set up Libreng Tawag and Libring Charging station in Tagbilaran City, Bohol caused by power failure in the island. Residents have the opportunity to get in touch with their friends, families, and relatives for FREE.

In addition, tents are build up outside municipal hall to serve as evacuation centers for those victims affected. The said tents will be up there until residents return homes safe and secured.

In other news, the 7.2 magnitude earthquake did not significantly damaged the network in Visayas region. Reports showed that the Globe key facilities were fully operational.

According to Robert Tan, Globe Chief Technical Adviser, the network still continues to provide telecommunication services for rescue and relief operations affected by the earthquake.

"Our network continues to be operational to provide criticaltelecommunication services for rescue and relief operations affected bythe earthquake,"

Globe Telecom will provide network advisories as necessary.
