Google Acquires Smart Watch Maker - WIMM Labs

Is it a Hello for new and the so-called Google Android Watch? No, Google has not disclosed yet its product name. For now, they acquired WIMMS Labs, a Smart Watch Maker, according to AllthingsD. Is it a goodbye for old and boring timepiece?

According to reliable source, Google had acquired WIMMS Labs – team players behind smart watch category.

In the report, this team had released a version for their watch technology and they are part of Google's Android team.

So, how will we name it? Google Android Smart Watch?

In related TIME news report, Samsung will be rolling out its smartwatch – Galaxy Gear smartwatch sometime early of September this year.

Some of the leak specs report with Galaxy Gear as follow:

  • 2.5-inch OLED display with 320-by-320 resolution
  • 1.5 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1 GB of RAM (pretty fast huh?)
  • 4-megapixel camera with 720p video capture (So this is Smartwatch camera, yes indeed!)
  • Speakers, accelerometer, Bluetooth 4.0 (bluetooth for pictures?)
  • OS Android Jelly Bean (so Google how about this?)
  • 10 hours of battery life ( well, I need more long-lasting life)
Lastly, don't ever forget Sony's SmartWatch

It has a 3-level micro display(Multi-level touch). This is quite very easy navigation. Notification feature is such a feat for it displays message when a call, message comes with it. SmartWatch considered to be act as Android Remote. For notifications, it will vibrate when a notifications received.
