HOW TO: Make Your USB Flash Drive As RAM

USB flash drive is a small data storage, removable and rewritable device includes flash memory( is a non-volatile computer storage chip that can be electrically erased and reprogrammed ) with an integrated Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface and supported by modern operating system like Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.
USB Flash Drive As RAM
USB Drive primarily used to store temporary files but it can be used as a RAM for the system. Making it as a RAM it increases the boot up speed and operational speed of the system. In Windows Operating System it can possibly work.

Requirement:
1. USB Flash Drive - Minimum 1 GB

Pagefile is a system file on the hard disk that Windows uses it as a RAM so this time we will add usb drive as a RAM also.

How to customize USB drive as RAM?
Follow these steps(  in Windows 7 )
1. In your Computer -> Right Click - > then click Properties

2. then in the right pane, click Advanced System settings

3. In the Advanced Tab of System Properties -> in the Performance section -> click the Settings...

4. In the Virtual Memory section -> click Change...
Here i have 1949 MB that Windows used it as a RAM and can be found on C:\ drive :) If you suspect this as a virus file, then you shouldnt, because it is a system file.

5. In the Virtual Memory window, choose your USB Drive ( i have mine L: Mabztech ) then click Custom Size , add your Initial size (MB) and Maximum size(MB).
  • I set 1024MB (1GB) both intial and maximum size here.

Note: When adding system pagefile it must be greater than to the initial and less than < to 4096 MB (4GB)
[  Pagefile >= initial < 4GB ]
  • If you are done then click set. Restart your computer so it will take effect the customization.
